A great resource for prenatal educators

  • Like most health information, prenatal education has expanded into many different arenas. Today’s savvy, soon-to-be moms are gathering information from many sources ranging from traditional parenting classes and doctor’s offices, to yoga studios and the Internet.

The New England Genetics Collaborative and Children's Hospital Boston have joined together to create a guide for prenatal educators that can be used in a multitude of settings.  A Guide for Prenatal Educators is a toolkit that provides resources to help parents learn about what to expect from the newborn screening process, provides videos and activities that can be incorporated into childbirth education classes, and even offers a sticker that can be placed in baby books to help parents remember to ask about the results of newborn screening.

We would love to hear from moms about where they are getting their information and what tools childbirth educators have found most useful. Join the conversation!
